Our new letterpress note cards are printed for us by artisan, Lauren Hunt, in Rhode Island.
Letterpress is a type of relief printing from polymer plates. Lauren uses an antique Chandler & Price letterpress that dates from around 1895. It is treadle-powered, much like an old sewing machine, and adds character and depth to each card. Our letterpress ink tends to be lighter as it is transparent and the image is slightly indented on the paper.
Choose from a single card and envelope or a set of five cards with envelopes.
The cards are blank inside and letterpress on Fabriano Medioevalis, a mould made paper from Italy. The paper has deckled edges and a rich, creamy texture that is easy to write on. Note cards are 4 1/2 x 6 5/8 inches, envelopes 4 3/4 x 7 inches.
