Searching for the right canvas took several years to source. We needed a densely woven, smooth surface and mid-weight canvas to be able to print and stitch within our workshop. Our canvas is an "army duck", it has a fair amount of body and stiffness, is durable and has a natural, unbleached color, which is slightly off white.

Our canvas is versatile and we keep coming up with fun, functional uses for it. Have a look, you might find something you need.

Try an organic cotton ditty bag - perfect for food storage, organizing, gift giving, and more.

It's really exciting to collaborate with local friends who are artisans. While I'll never have enough time to learn to weave these days, I did the next best thing. Choosing colors and patterns and creating textiles, that compliment our style with depth and texture, doesn't get any better. Our incredible pillows are handwoven by Newport weaver, Kathy Ward, and sewn in our studio.

The pillows measure approximately 17" square, have a 3 button back with a synthetic down insert. Woven from 8/2 cotton or perle cotton, pillows can be machine-washed in cold water on delicate and tumbled or dried flat.

Scented by nature, subtle, refreshing and sometimes sweet, you'll find our sachets filled with natural herbs and botanical ingredients.

Occasionally we create a special scent using fragrance oils when it can't be captured in nature and is too good to ignore, like our grape scented owl!

The nice thing about our handprinted fabric is that it can be used on a variety of products for the home. Our pillows and prints are inspired by nature, fabrics are elemental and comforting. Our herb sachets have natural fragrances and household items, such as our clothes pin holders and log carriers, make simple tasks more fun and colorful.

Functional home decor, handprinted to bring fun and color into your world, makes everyday tasks more enjoyable. We've created a selection of items that are useful and reflect an easygoing, laid back style.

Fun, bright and cheery, our kid's t-shirts are printed on Comfort Colors T's. More coming soon!

Letterpress is a type of relief printing from polymer plates. Choose from a single card and envelope or a set of five cards with envelopes.

The cards are blank inside and letterpress on Fabriano Medioevalis, a mould made paper from Italy. The paper has deckled edges and a rich, creamy texture that is easy to write on. Note cards are 4 1/2 x 6 5/8 inches, envelopes 4 3/4 x 7 inches.

Joseph R. Beckham was born in Rhode Island and has spent most of his life on, in or near the sea. As an avid diver, he began shooting underwater photography at a young age. His recent photographs chronicle nature and outdoor life and he prefers to shoot in natural light. Joe is frequently seen cruising the salt marshes of Narrow River in his boat, SQUID, or capturing photos of surfers along the sea wall.

Joe worked in the marine industry as a boat builder and marine engineer for nearly 30 years. He crewed on numerous ocean racing sailboats, participating in many races including the Trans-Atlantic, the Fastnet, as well as the Bermuda race.

In search of unique frames to compliment his work, Joe began making his own out of salvaged, reclaimed lumber and driftwood. He has a loyal following of customers who come to him for the unique colors, hand-rubbed and distressed finishes he creates.

His work can be viewed at lightforgestudio.com or follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

Willywaw pillows are hand printed one at a time, with care given to the choice of fabrics and colors. All pillows have removable covers and can be laundered. Natural fibers such as cotton, hemp, and linen are chosen for their hand (feel) and texture. We use transparent, water-based ink and the texture of the fabric is often accentuated by the application of hand pulling ink across the screen.

We are currently updating our t-shirt selections. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Table linens from hemp, cotton and linen are long wearing and I'm smitten with our natural fibers for their rich textures and soft hand. All of my fabrics are pre-washed and shrunk in hot water before they are hand printed. I make a variety of napkins, place mats, table runners and table cloths with my screen prints and am happy to work on custom orders for the size of your table.

One of our most popular items, our tea towels are handprinted on 100% cotton with water-based inks, the fabric is pre-washed and shrunk before printing, making them soft and absorbent.

In 1974 my school book bag was made by Marblehead Handprints, a small cottage industry on the North Shore of Boston, Massachusetts. Everyone had one. They were bold, graphic and colorful. My mom even did a bit of sewing for them, making patchwork jackets from their fine cotton.

By the 1990's the owners, Molly Haley and Kathy Walters, retired and sadly closed their shops, however, the iconic prints and durable products lived on for many more years.

While working on a business plan in 2006, a serendipitous meeting with Molly changed the direction Willywaw. At the time, I was thinking of printing a line of greeting cards, though I had a background in textiles and clothing design and was working as a freelance illustrator. My vision for Willywaw gradually expanded, encompassing everything I enjoyed - illustration, printmaking and textiles. Tote bags were the first Willywaw products that I designed, printed and stitched.

Marblehead Handprints inspired many people and their influence encouraged me carry on a handprinted tradition, blending art with function.
